Jacque Ruch, LCSW offers a variety of group therapy options for children, teens, and adults.
From diagnostics, advocacy, individual and family counseling, to exceptional student education instructional support, social skills groups, play groups, and parent support groups, Jacque has extensive experience in educational and therapeutic interventions as well as family support.
Jacque is the parent of a young adult with Autism, was a school principal for students with Autism for 10 years, and trained under Dr. Geoffrey Magnus at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, to develop her clinical skills.

According to the majority of research, group therapy participants show significant improvement with outcomes comparable or superior to individual therapy. Group therapy is a viable, cost effective treatment option and is especially effective for children and those with social skills deficits, social anxiety, those struggling with anxiety, depression, and isolation.
Due to Covid-19 groups are being limited to 4-6 participants, will practice social distancing, and attendees will be asked to where a face mask. Jacque has extensive group therapy experience and is pleased to offer a variety of group experiences for children 5 years old and up, through adults.
Social Skills Groups
These groups serve children and young adults ages 5–25 years of age and meet weekly for 60 minutes. Outcomes include increasing social awareness, friendship skills, communication, frustration tolerance, building relationships, vocational social skills, interviewing, telephone skills, Internet safety, managing social demands, navigating peer pressure, bullying, and more. Participants have a brief share time, followed by instruction, concluding with scaffolded play or an age appropriate activity that reinforces the content of the lesson. Each participant will work with the lead therapist to establish individual goals and outcomes.
Art Journaling is a therapeutic technique that leads patients through a unique problem solving process. Art journaling includes a variety of mediums and techniques designed for people with art experience and even those with none. It's all about the process, not the product. Art Journaling is a creative way to capture a season in your life. Art journaling is a powerful process that inspires, encourages, increases our esteem and raises our self-awareness. All materials are provided.

Adolescent / Young Adults Social Group
Geared primarily for those aged 16-22 who are experiencing social isolation. Topics focus on improving social, psychological, and emotional wellbeing — all critical skills for mental wellness during this time of increased social isolation. Due to COVID-19, this group will be limited to 6 participants, will utilize social distancing, and masks will be required to attend until such time that these recommendations have been lifted by the CDC. The group meets for 90 minutes, once weekly. Monthly social outings will be scheduled once the group structure is established. Participants will be responsible for their expenses during outings.
